Web offset division
Dar Akhbar Al Khaleej Printing & Publishing are the printers of Akhbar Al Khaleej and Gulf Daily News, the leading Bahrain based Arabic and English language newspapers respectively. In addition, well known titles like London based Al Hayat, Kottayam, India based Malayala Manorama and Germany based Star & Stripes newspapers are printed in the press daily. Apart from the daily newspapers, many weekly and monthly publications are also printed here. Telephone Directory and Yellow pages for the local telecom service provider BATELCO are some of the other specialised products executed in the press using the web offset facilities. Two independent press lines viz. Manugraph and Harris, are used to produce these orders.

Manugraph Web offset press consists of a heat set section, a 4-Hi cold set section and eight Y-units printing in cold set. Between them, there are 2 folders. When synchronised as a single machine, this machine can print a 32-page broad sheet newspaper with 12 pages in colour. Using the second folder, this machine can be split into two independent machines printing simultaneously. It has a fixed cut off of 578 mm.
The heat set section in this machine has a gas operated Meg Tec drier from France. The four colour registration and cut-off is controlled using a closed loop control system supplied by QuadTech, USA. Remote ink control system is from Peretta, USA.
Harris V15D is a 578 mm cut off press with eight ‘I’ units. This is a cold set press with two folders. It can print a 20-page broad sheet newspaper with 4 pages in 4-process colours.
